Presidents Day Weekend Sales

This American holiday is celebrated every year on the third Monday in February. Although it was originally established to commemorate the first U.S. President, George Washington, the day is now widely recognized as a time to honor all presidents who have served the country.

Presidents Day falls on Monday, February 19 this year, but that doesn't mean sales are limited to one day only. Because this is a three-day weekend for most Americans, retailers offer Presidents Day sales over several days. Savings typically start on Friday (sometimes earlier!) and end that Monday.

Shopping Presidents Day Weekend: Sales to Expect

As with many holiday sales, you're likely to find discounts on products across a number of categories. However, there tend to be deeper discounts on the following:

  • Winter Items

    Some of the biggest discounts you'll see fall under this category. Retailers are eager to make room for spring fashion and related products, so prices on winter items are heavily reduced. Need a coat? Sweaters? Ski gear? Now is the time order them.
